As a former coach-builder, Toby always believed the potential of his craft was largely untapped. With a natural flair for design and a passion for exploring artistic endeavours across various fields, he eventually found himself at a crossroads in his career. It became clear that merging these two passions was the key to creating something entirely unique.
Drawing from techniques honed through building luxury and historic cars, Toby expanded on these methods, developing innovative ways to push the boundaries of what's possible. This seamless blend of engineering and art allowed each creation to transcend function, becoming something truly extraordinary.
His forms and shapes carry a fluid, sleek quality, with just the right amount of detail. Toby has a knack for emphasising bold, sharp features, bringing them to the forefront without overwhelming the design. Much like a car, he understands that too many details can create chaos, while the perfect touch—a sleek swage running through the wing—strikes the ideal balance. Not too much, not too little—just enough to make a statement.
As serious as he takes his work, Toby doesn’t take himself too seriously. He enjoys infusing playfulness into his designs, often incorporating a cartoon-like aesthetic. However, engineering such whimsical, fantastical qualities is more challenging than it may appear. His creations often push the limits, blending fantasy and function in unexpected ways. It's all about experimenting, having fun, and continually pushing boundaries to create things that don't quite exist—yet.
